ID Cards and Parking Decals Office Update
01/07/09 - The Student Activities office will be located in the College Mall for the first week of classes from 8:30am to 9:00pm. The office hours will be extended on this Friday to 6:30pm and will be open Saturday, January 10th, from 9:00am to 12:00pm.
Credit Seminar

Book Drive
12/11/08 - CAF/BLAST is holding a book drive to help send textbooks to Africa through the Better World Books organization. Please drop off your extra college textbooks (under 5 years old) in anyone of the large collection bins you see on the DeFuniak campus, in building 3 of the FWB campus or in the K-mall or Building E on the Niceville campus by Dec.17. AASA Open Mic Night
11/19/08 - On Thursday, November 6, 2008, the NWFSC African American Student Association (AASA) hosted its Fifth Annual Open Mic Night in the Tyler Recital Hall of the Mattie Kelly Fine & Performing Arts Building on the Niceville Campus. There was a variety of performances, ranging from poetry reading to a hip hop singing group. The winners of the event were as follows: 3rd place, Deborah Majors; 2nd place, The Angelic Voices of Praise; 1st place, Tamara Austin. Those who placed received cash prizes. All performers received a framed certificate. An audience of approximately 40 people attended the competition. AASAs next event will be their Annual Christmas Banquet on December 5, 2008, in the Gallery in Building K.
NWFSC SGA teams with UWF Emerald Coast SGA to support Waterfront Rescue Mission
11/04/08 - Northwest Florida State College Student Government Association and UWF Emerald Coast SGA are working together this holiday season to collect items for the Waterfront Rescue Mission. The two SGAs chose to focus on donations of linens, but any items you are willing to donate will be appreciated.
Boxes are located around the Niceville and Ft Walton Beach campuses for students and staff members to drop off items which will then be delivered to the Waterfront Rescue Mission. Contact Student Activities on the Niceville campus for more information at 729-5348.Canned Food Drive Helps Our Own
11/04/08 - Student Government Association of Northwest Florida State College is collecting canned and non-perishable food items from November 3 - 21, 2008. Drop boxes are located around the Niceville and Fort Walton Beach campus.
The food collected will be distributed to students and community members identified as having a need for assistance during this holiday season. You may place your donation in one of the wrapped boxes on campus or bring it to the Student Activities office on the Niceville campus. 11/04/08 - Northwest Florida State College students and staff once again went above and beyond in support of the local community by donating 119 units of blood during the SGA Blood Drive on October 27, 2008.
Thanks to everyone who came out and offered a part of themselves. The blood you donated has the potential to help over 300 people in Northwest Florida. If you did not get a chance to give blood this time, SGA has scheduled another blood drive for March. Watch for more information during the spring semester.New SGA Senators Inducted
09/17/08 - Nine new Senators were recently sworn into the Northwest Florida State College Student Government Association. These Senators are the first to represent the new Northwest Florida State College. In the spirit of the democracy and freedom that allow students to discuss issues and express interests through SGA, the ceremony also included a celebration of Constitution Day. The Preamble of the Constitution was read aloud and facts about the Constitution were shared on this, the 221st birthday of our nations constitution.

- The NWFSC Brain Bowl is recruiting members for the 2008-2009 team. We have scholarships available for members and can use people with skills in Math, Science, and Humanities. For perspective recruits please contact the team coach, Aimee Watts, at wattsa@nwfscstatecollege.edu or 729-5277.
Brain bowl currently meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 2:00pm-3:30 pm.
